Based on Louisa May Alcott's classic Little Women, this author has taken the character of the absent father, Mr. March, who has gone off to war, and tells of his experiences.

It sounds like a wonderful book...I have to first read Little Women to appreciate this story.

Just finished reading this novel this morning... I like historical fiction. I've read two of Geraldine Brooks' novels and loved them. However, I didn't enjoy March as much. March finally picked up in part two.
