I inherited this book from a cousin who was clearing house to go O/S a little while ago. The plot sounds intriguing, but I have not been able to make much headway into this book, so I am reluctantly abandoning it :(
It will be heading off to *someone* as a RABCK sometime soon!

Oh no! Oh no! I am so sorry that I neglected to write that this book arrived safely in December. Things were chaotic over here and it must have slipped my mind. Thank you so very much for sending this to me though. I read somewhere that this was an excellent read and I can't believe that it has headed to me so soon after I wished for it. Thank you for thinking of me, briz-cowgirl. It was a lovely Christmas surprise. I will be back with more after reading it.

Checking in to let you know that I started this book on the weekend ...... The 777 pages frightened me so I thought I would tackle it a little at a time .... (I wanted to read it as I've heard so much about it so it was just the decision to be made on when to make the start and starting along with the other books that I am reading sounded good) I am now finding it hard to tear myself away from it, .... and have become resentful about leaving it to do anything else. (oh dear!) I've gone to bed late last night because of the book .............

*Warning spoiler family tree picture* Look only after reading the book!! It is in low resolution in case you accidently look!!

I am a fan of historical fiction and I found the historical parts of this book very interesting..... particularly the biblical parts and the Roman parts ..... amazing how the author managed to bring those characters that once lived to life and weave a story around them all. Some of the things mentioned during the time of Hitler were vaguely familiar (The Spear of Destiny ... a read from a long long time ago but now totally forgotten) and it was interesting to see how everything was connected together in the book. Some parts of the book went over my head as it was all too much to absorb for me in my current state of wanting-to-rush-through-the-book-at-top-speed-to-get-to-the-end! I also found myself drawing a family-tree (pictured) when I was halfway through the book and I needed to refer back to it from time to time. There were some holes in the plot and the behavior of the characters were questionable at times but on the whole, I really enjoyed the book and didn't want to put it down. I will be looking out for her much acclaimed book ... "The Eight" for I would really like to read another one by this author again. Thanks so much for sending it to me briz-cowgirl.

The author has a great website and there is interesting information on The Magic Circle here

Chances were that I was still awake undertaking some mundane task ;-)

At first glance I was going to re-release this book without reading it but after reading Carole888's journal entry I think it might need to stick around for a read.

I have also been known to draw 'family tree' visual aids for books (Three Miss Margarets was one of them) it is a reflection of my dominant learning style (yes, I would be a visual learner lol).

Thanks Carole888 for dropping this book off (and all the others too), you are very kind.
