Just a few bookring guidelines
-- Journal the book as soon as you receive it, and contact the next person for their mailing address.
-- Take as much time as you need, but try to read within 4-6 weeks so the ring keeps moving along.
-- Take a moment to journal your thoughts on the book when finished. It's interesting to read other's feelings on the book too!

I just finished this book today and it was excellent! I've read some of Oscar Wilde's other works, and this one is my favorite so far. This book is filled with typical Wilde metaphors and witticisms :) The first few pages might seem slow (they are descriptive and set up the characters), but once you get through them the book picks up and turns into a very enjoyable read.
I hope this book's future readers enjoy it as well.

5 out of 10

It pains me to say that I didn't enjoy this book. The description of it sounded so intriguing and I was excited to read it. Unfortunately, the blurb on the back cover was more entertaining than the book itself. Perhaps I'm not used to the 19th century style of writing. Maybe the sheer genius of it is wasted on me, I don't know. The plot line is incredibly interesting. . . the effects of evil on a young man and the changes the painting goes through but the way it was written tended to be confusing and not nearly as exciting as the blurb made it out to be. I am going to send this on to the next person in line with apologies for a negative journal entry and high hopes that she enjoys it more than I did.

Thank you so much. The book arrived safe and sound. I heard of this book from my mother. My last memory of this was when she and I watched the movie based on the book 6 years ago, about 8 months before she died. So, this book will be interesting to me...on a different level.
