This Book is Currently in the Wild!
2 journalers for this copy...
I just got this... will read and update this entry.
Received from Alitha at tonight's meetup. It's supposed to go in the box of books we're sending up to Palmerston North for their reader's festival, but it looks vaguely interesting, so I might try and read it first.

I'm only half way through reading this, and Lyttletonwitch is coming round tonight to pick up the books that are going to Palmerston North (they found a friendly truckie who's going to take them up there for us for free!), so I don't think I'll manage to get it finished in time for it to go in the box.
I'm enjoying the book so far, though.

I was really enjoying the book up until about half way through, and then it seemed to drag - by the last 100 pages or so I was just wishing it would hurry up and end (and not all of that can be attributed to the fact that I had a brand new copy of "Wee Free Men" sitting on top of my TBR pile beckoning to me :-) ).
"The Dead School" follows the lives of two men, born a generation apart, seemingly complete opposites, and yet living strangely parallel lives. When their paths intersect (some sort of non-Euclidean geometry going on here obviously, where parallel lives can intersect!), they both see their worlds crumble around them.
Another book with incredibly short chapters (most only 1 or 2 pages). Seems to be a bit of a trend for short chapters lately (or maybe it's just been the kind of books I've been reading).
