"To Dany Ashton it seems like the offer of the holiday of a lifetime when her stepfather invites her to stay on the strange and beautiful 'Isle of Cloves'. But even before her plane takes off, Dany's delight has faded as she finds herself at the centre of a frightening mystery. On her arrival at Kivulimi, the 'House of Shade', her unease turns to terror when she realizes that among the house-guests is a dangerous and ruthless murderer. Dany doesn't know whom to trust..."

'I recommend it wholeheartedly to those who fancy the idea of Agatha Christie with a touch of romantic suspense' - Auberon Waugh in the Standard

Yes, murders multiplied enough in this story. I was afraid of too few people being left alive. I like this book a lot even if one murder per a story is quite enough in my opinion.
I wonder how Zanzibar does look now. Totally different, I am afraid. Times have changed. But the nature must still be much the same as it was when M. M. Kaye visited the island more than 50 years ago.
This counts for Tanzania in my Geographical Challenge
This is my #22 (100) in "REDUCE MOUNT TBR 2010" Challenge arranged by DoveiLibri.
This is my #30 in 2010 KEEP THEM MOVING CHALLENGE arranged by Guinaveve.

Got this book from Annelis at the local meeting. Looking forward to reading this one! This will be a part of Tarna's Countries and Continents - challenge on my list.
This book was ok, but not as gripping as some murder mysteries. Something about the innocence of the main character was both very recognizable and at the same time slightly annoying. The alleged concpiracies of the Reds seemed quite silly and endearing, but understandable given the time the book was written.
This book counts for Tanzania for my part of the Countries and Continents challenge.
