I got this hardcover book at the Dollar Store and found it very interesting. The writer was a translator at the Guantanamo Bay detention center, and writes about his experiences there.

This is actually my second copy. I gave the other to my son, and am passing this one to a friend who's interested in the subject.

Interesting, more from the point of view of the military red tape than the plight of the detainees. Makes for frustration in imagining their suspended lives while the military tries to figure out just what their status is, POW or NOT, and what to do with them. I liked the honest portrait presented by Erik Saar. He seems to be a good person who is caught in the middle of the tragic events following September 11, 2001.
