In Israel, in the turbulent first century, a baby is born to a humble Jewish family – but to a great destiny. I made it 50 pages into this book, found it to be mostly a dreary discussion of Jesus' family tree and quit. I did like the first couple of pages in which Jesus made use of his "abilities" in a very pre-Hogwarts Harry Potter fashion. This was the first Anne Rice I've attempted to read - hopefully I'll have better luck next time...
