Received this for my birthday a couple of years ago. I'm actually going to use it to track a bookbag I'm starting up. Maybe it can make the participants of the bookring feel better at the same time! :-)

Welcome to 1001 Books to Read Before You Die Australian Book Bag!!

This bag will start moving in January 2007.

If you wish to join, please PM me and I will add you. We will kick off once we have 5(ish) members.

How it works
- Please journal the bag once you have received it (so we all know where it currently is) and again when you send it on. Let us all know what books you put in and take out.

- You will be sending the bag to the person who appears after you in the list, so you need to PM them to get their address. It's not a race, but please send the bag on as speedily as you can. Enjoy a healthy tip from the Little Book of Wellbeing! :-)

- Please ONLY add books from 1001 Books List (either 2006 or 2008 edition) to the bag (see here)

- Please make sure the bag is reasonably full. Ideally you should replace the same number of books as you remove, although this may not be logistically viable.

- If you're the last person on the list, then please PM me and I'll decide whether to ask for new members or get it sent back to me.

Well, wasn't I surprised when this arrived in the post today!

After browsing through the bag, I came across this little book, which gave me a giggle and reminded me of a 'Black Books' episode:

I've chosen two books from the bookbag:
- The well of loneliness by Radcliffe Hall
- Schindler's list by Thomas Keneally

Now, I have to read two '1001 books' quickly to replace them with!

Will post onto LadyIndigo in a fortnight.

Thank you.

Journal Entry 10 by livrecache from Hobart, Tasmania Australia on Friday, May 30, 2008
The bag arrived safely a couple of days ago, but I've only just now had a chance to journal it. This well-being book is a great idea - a good tracking device and helpful too.

I'll sort through the bag's contents over the weekend. A quick skim tells me that I've read most of them, but I do spy a couple that I haven't!

I'll just do a quick inventory,

The bag has come to me containing:

The Hound of the Baskervilles
Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
The Tin Drum
The Mayor of Casterbridge
Emma
The War of the Worlds
The Blind Assassin (the self-same copy that I sent out into the world)
American Pastoral

Thanks to all who have participated so far.

Journal Entry 11 by livrecache from Hobart, Tasmania Australia on Sunday, June 8, 2008
