WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

The Dream for Darfur Olympic Torch Relay sets out to remind China of its responsibilities. The torch started traveling August 27 from Darfur, Sudan and is making its way to more than 28 states and seven countries around the world until it reaches China in December.

Wednesday, November 28, at 12:15 PM we will be walking the torch through the Texas State University campus, 601 University Dr., San Marcos, TX 78666. This event is hosted by STAND - Students Take Action Now: Darfur, a student anti-genocide coalition, an umbrella organization of over 600 high school and college chapters dedicated to putting an end to genocide.

We will start at Old Main and end at the campus mall area where there will be several interactive advocacy projects (including release of books for our BookCrossing challenge: READ - Respond in Earnest Action for Darfur). Here we will also have a donation table that is set up from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM. We will be accepting donations for International Medical Corps and Save Darfur Coalition as well as promoting the second half of our event.

At 6:00 PM we will show the movie, "The Devil Came on Horseback," in the Centennial Hall Teaching Theater. Afterward, we will hold a reception in Lampases 407A, in which we will have a discussion of the film and take questions.
