Passed to me for bookcrossing. Enjoyed by previous reader.

Edited: Initially I wasn't going to read this before wild releasing, but I did, and I'm glad I did. (I only finished reading it in bed before heading to Aberdeen for a couple of days, so the book was picked up and journalled before I had a chance to write my review, never mind make release notes!)

This is a sad book, but with twists of humour all through it. Well written and moving.

Release notes: THE BUCK, HUNTLY,SCOTLAND

It was left at the trig point on the top of The Buck (2366ft/721m), near Huntly about 12.30pm.

We decided to walk up The Buck when passing through the area on our way from Inverness to Aberdeen. It was a lovely day for the walk, albeit a wee bit chilly. The ground was rather wet and involved a fair bit of bog-jumping, but the walk was easy enough for the most part. I was pleasantly surprised to see the rocky summit; I had expected a dull featureless heather-clad hump. We had clear views in all directions, but we didn't linger long as the wind was a bit cold.

Later that day we walked up the neighbouring hill - Tap o'Noth, where I released another book.

It was great to find this book. I love reading and I love it when someone gives me a book they've enjoyed. I was climbing The Buck and wasn't sure if I could get to the top before I'd have to turn back to make sure I was off the hill before the light went. I did go. I did get to the top. I took some fantastic photos, turned around and spotted this book. Fantastic idea. Every summit should have one! I'll read it and pass it on. And I think I might get some bags and start releasing books on all the hills I get to the top of.
