Journal Entry 1 by Kiptos from Singapore, n/a Singapore on Tuesday, February 19, 2008
This is a murder mystery novel like no other. The detective, and narrator, is Christopher Boone. Christopher is fifteen and has Asperger's Syndrome. He knows a very great deal about maths and very little about human beings. He loves lists, pattern and the truth. He hates the colours yellow and brown and being touched. He has never gone further than the end of the road on his own, but when he finds a nighbour's dog murdered, he sets out on a terrifying journey which will turn his whole world upside down. ***** This is not a happy story but at least I am glad the ending turns out well enough. Christopher is a boy who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, simply put, he knows a lot about Maths but extremely little about people. He hates the colours yellow and brown and being touched. It is sad to realise again that in general, people, especially those in large cities, have very low tolerance for those with disabilities like Christopher's, simply because they do not make much of an effort to get to know them or understand them. But I guess this is understandable enough since in this rat-race of a world, you do not have very much time to expand more effort other than to work and earn a living. But at least in today's world, we have special schools for those with special needs rather than to have all these special people confined in madhouses like in the days of old. For Christopher, at least his parents love him, especially his father but it is difficult for them too because there's so much he cannot understand or adapt to. It requires a lot of love and patience. But Christopher himself has a rather strong personality in that he did not give up on his dreams of getting good grades and going on to University. This is a good book to be enjoyed although I wish my Maths is much better so I can understand the formulae. Some parts also seem too profound for me, either that or my command of English is getting worse.

Kiptos , thank you for making me a winner. I had heard a lot about this book, that is..people talking about reading it, but I had no idea of the content. From Kiptos' description, I think I will find it interesting.

Journal Entry 5 by kayjay33 from Langley, British Columbia Canada on Monday, May 19, 2008
This was a strange little book. It was about a teen ager with Asperger's Syndrome.I knew nothing about this odd condition but know a lot more now. It must be a real challenge to raise a child with this condition and makes me thankful that my five children were all reasonably normal. As normal as their mother at least.I had been wanting to read this book for some time. Like Kiptos, I found some parts of the book too profound for my brain to understand . Thank you Kiptos for sending the book to me .
