I gave in and went to the book store. Oh, my!

This is the second Maddie Springer mystery series. Maddie's day job is to design children's shoes for Tot Trots, but she continues to find herself in the middle of one murder after another.
This time her long-lost father calls to ask for her help in finding his missing friend. Her mother refuses to tell Maddie anything about her father, other than that he ran off to Vegas with a showgirl named Lola. Ramirez, who hasn't called, is trying to protect Maddie from her own inept attempts to find her father and catch a murderer, while Maddie and her friends bumble their way through Vegas, drag queens, murderers and mobsters.
There were a few laughs along the way, but this installment falls short of the first. It is more reminiscent of the Three Stooges than Stephanie Plum, which the first reminded me of. I'll continue with the next book to see if the series improves, but that will be my last if it doesn't.

Great book but I get tired of "strong "women who do stupid things just to prove to a man that they can do anything.
