Journal Entry 1 by IACBY from Shaker Heights, Ohio USA on Thursday, March 6, 2003
After reading this book twice, and deciding to buy an additional copy for my personal library, am I finally willing to release this wonderful book.

This book captured my soul. It was extremely funny and extremely sad at times, and I just couldn't put it down. I don't think I have read another book that dealt with eating disorders, mental disorders and life itself on such a real level, and I wish this book will be read by as many people as possible!

Which is why...

This book will be offered in a bookray. A bookray is very similar to a bookring except that the book doesn't come back to me! Each book should continue to move forever through as many bookcrossers who want to read it.

If you are interested in participating in this bookray, send me a PM so that I can maintain the list.

In order to maintain privacy, only the Bookcrossing member name of the participants will be posted. When you receive the book, journal it, so we'll know you got it. When you are ready to send the book along, send a PM to the next person in the list asking them for their address details. If you do not hear from that person within 10-14 days, then PM the next person in the list and so forth until you receive confirmation that someone is still willing to be part of the bookray - and then pass it along, and journal the departure of the book!

please don't put your name on the list if you are not willing to send the book overseas. I would like people all over the world to enjoy this book.

That's it! if you have any questions, send me a PM.

Enjoy!

Journal Entry 4 by pgsahm from Disputanta, Virginia USA on Monday, March 24, 2003
I rec'd the book today and really look forward to reading it! This has been a book on my wishlist for a while now and I'm so glad that IACBY started the bookray! Thank you!

I have a few books to read (darn, bookrays keep suckering me) ahead of this one. But very soon I will read and release to the next in line!

Journal Entry 5 by pgsahm from Disputanta, Virginia USA on Sunday, May 4, 2003
I finished up the book last night after reading the last 75 pages in one sitting. I was ready to see how it ended and how Frannie, the main character, got on with her life.

I enjoyed the book quite a bit and really liked Frannie. There were a lot of similiarities between her and I, and that made liking her easy. I will admit that I thought the book was going to be a light read without much thought. However midway through it became something other than a light read and became darker and darker. That's quite alright because it gave the book it's storyline and it's reason for 'being.' :o)

I will say that Abby totally got on my nerves. She was a brat and I did not like her character one bit. If I had been Frannie I would have ditched her long ago. But then I guess it's hard to give up a friendship that had spanned for so many years.

The book will be mailed to AmberLee17 this week!

Received today. Will read it as quickly as possible and send it on it's way...

Journal Entry 7 by AmberLee17 from Stockton, California USA on Tuesday, May 13, 2003
I struggled with this book, and only really got to liking it 3/4 of the way in... Had a difficult time dealing with some of the painful situations involved. (This arrived just after the ring for Lucky, and shortly after The Lovely Bones which could have had an influence on my mood.)

Favorite quotes:
1) *irk!* Frannie's eulogy to Shelly is just too long to reprint here, but it's wonderful and healing. Pg. 353-355.

2) ["Chubby" replies:] "Making decisions is hard for everyone. You can't always control the outcome of your decisions, so you focus on their details to prepare for what will happen. But you can't prepare, not like that. If you never choose, all you have is what may be. But sitting on decisions is very uncomfortable. The power of what may be is only illusory. There's an expression: life happens while we decide how to live it. Real power comes when you make a decision and deal with its consequences. And that has to do with identity and self-esteem." Pg. 356-7

***blush*** I've been a disorganized space cadet lately. Only got this into the mail to Muffin77 today. This was shipped air, so with luck it will be there by the end of the month? Fingers crossed.

Journal Entry 9 by Muffin77 from Leipzig, Sachsen Germany on Sunday, June 29, 2003
This one arrived safely yesterday!!!! I read the back cover already and also the very beginning (currently I am still reading another bookray book...) - but I can't wait to read this one!!!!!! It sounds so good already... Will be back soon =:o)
-----
July-08-2003 Due to some health problems I don‘t get to read much. I will see until the weekend how my body recovers and then either read it very quickly (I am on page 83 and like the book so far) or send it on. I am sorry for the delay.... =:o(

Journal Entry 10 by Muffin77 from Leipzig, Sachsen Germany on Wednesday, July 16, 2003
I really tried to read more but due to my "University stress (preparing my graduation)" I don't have enough time reading as much as I wish to... And every time I read some pages I get a bad feeling because I have this book so long already... Once my life is going "normal" again I will get back to the book. For now I sent it on... Anyway, thanks a lot for being so patient all!

Released on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at Postal release to fellow bookcrosser in Cologne/Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany.

Sent to kayters today. Have fun! I liked the third I read of the book!!!

Aack! Oh no! Another book ring book! Yipe, yipe, yipe! My TBR pile of book ring books is currently at FOUR and this one is last. Hopefully, it will be on its way shortly, however, can't guarantee it. Don't worry though - it will move out of Marietta eventually!

Journal Entry 13 by kayters from Lawrenceville, Georgia USA on Tuesday, September 16, 2003
Still here in my TBR pile. I am working my way through a herd of book rings and rays that all arrived at the same time. Rest assured, it will be read and passed on as soon as I can get to it. :)

Received yesterday...I have MANY rings and rays to get to before this one, I will attempt to get to it in the most timely manner possible.

3/10 I am suffering from the "drowning in books" syndrome...I know I have had this much too long. I plan to read it this week and pass it along to whomever I can get ahold of! SO SORRY! I promise I am not signing up for any more rings/rays until I get my piles under control.

I finally, finally finished this book. It is a wonderful book and I didn't want it to end.
The relationship between Frannie and Shelly is heart wrenching. I saw so much about my relationship with my sister mirrored in theirs. This book is a real treasure and I am so glad I decided to read it.

Journal Entry 35 by DitteL from Næstved, Storstrøms Amt Denmark on Saturday, August 16, 2008
I really enjoyed this book. I would classify it as a chick-lit with substance, and it was quite nice to experience that this genre can produce other plots than girl meets boy, girl leaves boy, girl gets back together with boy, end of story.

Hopefully, I'll be able to find someone who are interested in continuing this bookray.

Edit: August 17th.
The book is ready to continue its journey.

I was surprisingly impressed with this book.

I didn't expect to like this as much as I did, but it's good. I finished it about a week ago but have been without a computer for the last two weeks. Have finally messaged dare2believe for the next address to send it to.
