My friend bought this in Kathmandu after we had finished travelling in Tibet. We were both feeling very inspired by tales of Everest. I will read this in the near future.

This is the second book in my oeuvre of Everest bios. I am not a mountaineer but now having been to Everest, I am inspired by the stories of the people who climb that mountain and fail. Failure shows as much courage as success. This was an easy read, and I confess I skim read the parts of the book where Beck talks about his life leading up to the climb, but the sections of the book where he talks about what happened on the mountain, and his life once he came home to Texas, were engrossing.

I will release this book into the wild for someone else to find. I hope whoever comes across this book enjoys it. When you have finished with the book, it would be wonderful to send it out into the wild for someone else to find. It has travelled so far already - thanks and welcome to Bookcrossing!
