Borges is an amazing writer. He has a unique and insightful perspective of the world, which results in immersive and interesting stories. I just fear I'm not cultured or smart enough to pick up on all the little references that apparently permeate Borges's writing. Still, missing them does not diminish the stories at all.

This book includes two collections, Fictions and Artifices, of which the former is clearly superior. I especially liked "The Library of Babel", having read Lasswitz's "The Universal Library", and "Pierre Menard, Author of Don Quixote", a look at how the value of art can depend on its context but also a bit at how this can lead to absurdity if taken too far.
