A friend mentioned this book only last week, so I couldn't help but pick it up at the BC Meetup today. Onto my TBR pile it goes!

This has been hanging on my bookshelf for about 4 years so I picked it up in attempt to clear some shelving! And, actually, I really enjoyed the book. It was a very intimate reading experience and I loved the structure - most chapters are not more than a few pages - so you feel you are getting small snapshots into the bride's life. This includes her clandestine sex life (which is racy!) - and probably more interesting for me at the moment - into her first pregnancy and birth of her son. The only thing that jarred with me was the overarching premise - that the bride and her baby son had disappeared and that the manuscript has been posthumously published by her mother. I really don't think the story needed that. It detracted from thme main story for me.
