The cover of this book kept drawing me to it. I just love the red shoes! When I read the back of the book I find that it's about the magic of reading with 2 young boys that are exiled to a remote village in China during the 'Cultural Revolution'.

Very interesting, educating and quick read. I didn't know much about the Chinese period of 're-education' and can't imagine what those people experienced.
