Journal Entry 1 by guinaveve from Mason, Ohio USA on Monday, November 12, 2007
I found this today at Borders. I don't usually buy books full priced unless it is a new release that I really want to read, but I had a gift certificate to the whole shopping plaza and decided to spend it on things I really wanted, so I bought this. I had several Picoult books to choose from for purchase, though I have also read several. I picked this one because the back blurb caught me more than any other though they all look interesting.

I read this on a trip to PA over the last couple of days. I really enjoyed it for the most part. Mariah was a great mother who interacted well with her daughter Faith. I was disappointed in how Mariah dealt with the men in her life. The relationship she chose to have was a poor choice considering what her boyfriend could have done to her relationship with Faith and the issue of custody. This was a good read, and I hope to share it with someone else to read soon.

Another great read from Jodi Piccoult. Having read many of her books, I am accustomed to her writing style. With that said, I was waiting for a big twist at the end and was somewhat disappointed that there wasn't. I also think more could have been done with Ian's character. As the antagonist, all he did was initially start the media frenzy. After that he laid low, only to help Joan out in the end. Overall, I loved the book and I couldn't put it down once I got started (I was very tired at work today since I stayed up way too late last night reading this book) Tomorrow I am dropping the book off at the post office to send to blackadder75, winner of the Happy Day RABCK hosted by RockBird.

Wow! I just finished reading this and think this was one of Jodi Picoult's best books. I was a little leary when I first started reading this book. I was so turned off by the ending of My Sister's Keeper that it was coloring my perception. Faith's tory was very well written and moving.
