Gervase Phinn has been likened to James Herriot, which I guess is true, though the life of a vet would seem to provide more extreme experiences to relate. Nevertheless Phinn comes across as warm and empathic. This would probably delight anyone who knows Yorkshire or has been involved in schools and teaching.
