Songs of Tuvalu
4 journalers for this copy...
This book also comes with 2 blue cd's of Tuvaluan songs.
This book was selected for Olympic Challenge - Tuvalu
The songs were more like chants and I found them relaxing in some ways but the book detailed the song and gave some description as to who performed it and the history of the song when it was known. These recordings were done in the early '60 on a little tape recorder then remastered to cd. Both the book and cd's are a treasure. I never would have found this book without Olympic Challenge.

Received from Hendertuckian for the Olympic Challenge - thank you!

I didn't enjoy this as much as Hendertuckian, but I do have an interest in folk music and world music, so I did find it very interesting. I particularly loved the last few tracks on the CD, which were hymns composed in Tuvalu.
Counts as Tuvalu for the Olympic Challenge.

Received and it looks intriguing.
Hmmm, I don't know if I was in the wrong mood when I trid to listen to the CDs but although I love most folk music, I didn't enjoy this. I didn't make it all the way through the discs, although I did read the lyrics and descriptions of all the songs and found them interesting.
Yikes, I apologize for forgetting that this was supposed to be a ray and holding onto this so long. My only excuse is that it wasn't in any of the previous journal entries. Anyway, I still have the book and I'll PM the next person in line now and get her address.
For the record, here's the order as mentioned in the forums - let me know if there should be changes to it:
1 Hobbit
2 LeishaCamden
3 Katyan

This arrived in the mail from Poughkeepsie yesterday. Poughkeepsie!! I'm a huge ElfQuest fan and as soon as I hear or see that name my thoughts immediately fly to the world of two moons ... :-)
Thanks for sharing this, everyone! I have a few rings & rays ahead of it, but I'll try to get to it as soon as possible.
