Amazon Editorial Review: When Quoyle's two-timing wife meets her just deserts, he retreats with his two daughters to his ancestral home on the starkly beautiful Newfoundland coast, where a rich cast of local characters and family members all play a part in Quoyle's struggle to reclaim his life. As Quoyle confronts his private demons - and the unpredictable forces of nature and society - he begins to see the possibility of love without pain or misery.

Thank you for this wonderful Holiday Gift Giving RABCK. I've heard of this book but have never read it. Thank you so much for your kindness! (A PM is also on it's way) I'll make sure to pass it on to someone else once I've read it!

What a lovely book, I've really enjoyed the story! I knew it was a popular book but I had never seen the movie (although I'm planning to rent it now), so I had no idea what it really was about.

I found it mainly funny... the way of writing, the dialogues. Quoyle is an endearing character... his naivenesse, the way he takes care of his little girls, his look on life.

I was surprised that it has taken me a week to read it, maybe because of the small letters. :-) Anyway, I've received this book as a RABCK (thanks again for this whiskeyjane!!!) and I would like to pass it on as a RABCK to fellow bookcrosser Xana (who has it on her wishlist). I'll probably be sending it out somewhere this week. Enjoy!!! :-)
