Although the story is fiction, it is based on fact. It is 1942 in Warsaw, Poland. Three children are separated from their parents. Then, they hear that their father is alive and in Switzerland. They are determined to escape Warsaw and make it to Switzerland.
I enjoyed reading this book which is supposedly based on true-life events but there is a lot of drama added. The intended audience is younger intermediate readers.
