I found this book in my hotel in Kathmandu just before leaving Nepal to fly to Tibet. In Tibet, I visited Base Camp where Mallory set off for his ill-fated climb.

I loved this book - it was wonderful to read it while I was in Tibet and before I actually got to Everest. I have a marvellous picture of me standing in front of Everest clutching the book.

Younghusband was an amazing character and this story is poignant. Really recommended to anyone who wants to know more about the tragedy that can be Mount Everest.
