Favourite author, wickedly funny.

From Amazon:

Beset by boredom and the decay of old age, the septuagenarian inhabitants of Tuppenny-hapenny Cottage find that malice is the best recipe for keeping their spirits alive. And when the grandchildren arrive to do their duty on Christmas Day, the festivities degenerate into an unforeseen riot.

A quick and sarcastically funny book. I only hope I don't become like some of the characters when I grow old! :o)

I have Shimmy-crazy's address so the book will be on its way tomorrow!

Thanks again starflash, I had a good time reading this one!

Recieved this little book in the mail today, thank you Shimmy-crazy!
I am looking forward to reading this book as I work in a centre with 280 seniors and I have to work on Christmas day. I will be ready!

sorry, but this did not even come close to my expectations of a witty and humorous book...maybe it is because I am Canadian. I found it to be rather sad, esp the ending.
I am PMing my new best buddy, Mahinaarangi in New Zealand to send it on its way across the world.

Journal Entry 9 by Mahinaarangi from Waihi, Waikato-Coromandel New Zealand on Tuesday, January 27, 2009
I received this, with another book, in the mail yesterday. Thanks for posting it herchelle. I have three to read in front of it, but I promise I will be as quick as I can.

Journal Entry 10 by Mahinaarangi from Waihi, Waikato-Coromandel New Zealand on Friday, February 27, 2009
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very different to anything I've read before.
The ending was an absolute hoot!
I apologise profusely for my tardiness in reading/responding.

On its way to Midlifecrisis, who originally asked to be skipped as she wouln´t be able to read the book in the near future, but then I explained to her that she´s the last bookcrosser in this ray, so there´s no hurry... Happy reading!

Journal Entry 13 by Midlifecrisis from St. Austell, Cornwall United Kingdom on Friday, April 23, 2010
Arrived safely with me yesterday. Thanks so much for moving me to last. I will put this near the top of my TBR pile, so I can let you know what I thought of it. Will try to keep it moving in due course.
