If you have found this book, welcome to Bookcrossing and thank you for taking the time to let us know about its journey. Feel free to enjoy the book and pass it along to a friend, neighbor, family member or co-worker, or simply leave it somewhere for another lucky reader to enjoy as you did! This book isn’t your type of read? No problem, don't feel obliged to read it, just be kind enough to help it on its journey.

From back cover:

Geek Love is the story of a carnival family, the Binewskis, who save their traveling "Carnival Fabulon" from bankruptcy by giving birth to fabulous freaks--the children born to Lil Binewski after she ingests drugs, insecticides, arsenic, radioisotopes, anything to make her babies more "special." The result is a world readers have never encountered before, a place of horror and humor, where vengeance and love are realized in unimaginable ways. And where some unforgettable "Ripley's Believe it Or Not" characters are both exotically unique--and hauntingly, chillingly, like us.

Wow! This book was incredible! I really liked this. It says a lot about people, even though most of the characters are different in some way they are more like the "norms" than you would think. This is a really incredible book! Any parents who would purposely try and create their own circus freaks and be disappointed if the baby is normal, well, that says a lot about this story.

I am going to see if my husband Lumbermoose wants to read this then I will see if anyone wants to read this on a bookring!

Just started reading this one tonight. Recommended to me by JennyC1230.

11/28/07
Finished reading this one today. I struggled through the first third of this book, but I hung on to the end (due to JennyC1230 encouraging me to give it a chance). Overall, I thought it was a very interesting book. It's so bizarre to consider the thought of purposely trying to create carnival "freeks" for the sake of making a buck. Throughout the book you encounter the improtance of family and what some will do to protect it.

Sending this one on to the next person on the list...enjoy!!

I really enjoyed reading this. However, the last part of the book felt very rushed to me, and the ending was a bit strange and unexpected.

Thanks for sharing, JennyC1230. The book is now on the way to Midlifecrisis via surface mail.

Well done South African post - it arrived today, safe and sound. I would love to have a chart of its journey, which could be a book in itself. Thank you too Klaradyn for the beautiful stamps. I pass these on to a chap in the office whose little boy collects; I am sure they will be a big hit.

Wow - what an amazing read! Extraordinary how quickly the grotesque becomes the norm in this book. I know I read it quicker than I should, because I could not wait to get to the next chapter. Thank you SO much for sharing this fabulous book. I have the next person's address and will post this early next week.

this book leaves me kind of speechless, although lots of adjectives have come to my mind: incredible, fascinating, revolting, captivating, strange, freaky (obviously).
other than that, JennyC1230 has just about said what I also feel about this book

Thank you very much for sharing this unique reading experience!

I'm now just waiting for taniazed's addy.

This is now a Ray-it-Forward for Geek Love by: Katherine Dunn.

I’ll find the first person that wants this book and send it to them. I just ask that they pass the book along “BookRay” fashion when they are done with it.

If you have this book then please look for another BookCrosser to pass it to. Check the wish lists, leave a message on the forums, a yahoo group, the BookRelay, or offer it at a meeting...whatever way you choose to pass it on is up to you. If no other BookCrossers want it then send it along its way as a wild release but this should be a last resort.

What are the advantages of Ray it Forward? Time frame – I ask that you pass the book along in a couple months or so, but because there is not a “waiting list” the time is a little more relaxed than a standard BookRay.

Shipping Preferences – Choose your own. If you need to post within your own country then do so. If you choose to send international that is great too. If postal costs are a problem right now then hand it to another BookCrosser at a meeting, ask for postage from the receiver or find some other way to get the book in the hands of another BookCrosser.

***Please note that it would be polite to let the next person know that this is a Ray It Forward book before you pass it along to them so that they will know that they will be expected to pass it on in a couple months.

Enjoy the Book!

Hi all, this is actually taniazed, however my old email address got deleted and I couldn't find my way back to my old account. (after quite a while of being away from bookcrossing) I'm happy to move on from that one anyway as all I feel from that account is guilt that I was terrible at bookrings and it actually made me avoid bookcrossing. With this one I don't intend on being on any bookrings (other than bookrays I set up myself from my books) so feel a lot more positive about my future bookcrossing experiences. Will read this one asap and send it on it's way as a ray it forward as requested..

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
