I have read my 3rd book from the author, Mitch Albom entitled “For One More Day”. He previously wrote "The Five People You Meet in Heaven” and “Tuesdays with Morrie”.

Albom’s books are amazing. He writes stories with a simple eloquence which intensely affects the reader's emotional state. I find myself relating to the character’s sadness and joy with such power that afterwards I am drained emotionally.

Mitch Albom’s books strip away the distractions of life and through his words allow me to see the core of human goodness.

What a long journey for such a small book...The Middle East to the East Coast of the USA!!

I am looking forward to another wonderful read by Mitch Albom. Both of his previous titles have been wonderful and I expect to enjoy this as well. Thank you airyaa for starting this ray.

Journal Entry 7 by 300dogs from Jackson, New Jersey USA on Friday, May 23, 2008
Just like the two previous books that I have read by Mitch Albom, this was a beautiful story. Simply written, I read this book in just one day. My favorite line in the book was on page 174; "...when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know."

Thank you to matlockjames for sharing your copy of For One More Day and especially to airyaa for starting this ray. I will mail this to nat4lee tomorrow. Enjoy!!

This book arrived safe and sound in the mail ... a few days ago, I guess. "For One More Day" recieved a lot of interesting publicity in the Eastern United States, and I am quite interested to dive in and see what's in store. I finished a different book from BookCrossing, and I am now going to start reading "For One More Day" immediately.

I wanted to include a passage from AnonymousFinder that was left on a RABCK that a friend of mine recently participated in (it seemed a little appropriate):

"I was tenderly wrapped and then launched into the mail system. I survived the journey and was immediately unwrapped. Then I landed on a stack of books and about cried. I felt abandoned and discarded. I had no idea how long I had to wait before being devoured."

Journal Entry 9 by LastCavalier from Springfield, Virginia USA on Monday, June 9, 2008
I am not certain what I was expecting this book to be... but this was certainly not it. "For One More Day" is a great piece of literature written right to the point without dawdling around.

When I finished the book, read that last page, the last sentence... that's when the story really hit me. It is a wonderful feeling when you find a story that can take your breath away. Mitch Albom, for all of his novels, has the power to make you take pause, take that second look at yourself and those around you. This is a book that I will never forget.

I have sent a private message to bookcrossing member franaloe of the Netherlands requesting a mailing address. This book will be sent on within the week.

Neat little book, just like 'The five people you meet in heaven', the book by Mitch Albom that I've read previously. A bit of the same theme; it makes you think about life, and appreciate what you have.

Thanks for sharing! I'm sending it to MissTerry today.

Thank you MissTerry for quick delivery and matlockjames for starting the ring!

I have one unfinished book right now, but I guess I'll have plenty of time to read during my weekend train trips.

I did not like this book as much as the previous from Mitch Albom that I've read. The story was nice, and I do believe that is possible to be connected somehow to those loved ones that have passed away.

Good story, easy to read. Next this will travel to Turku to seethroughtfaith, I posess the address already, as I just got a book from her :D

Arrived safely today - thank you Lottuli. Funnily enough I picked up a copy of this (secondhand)in Harrogate, England this summer. Haven't read it yet. So this prompts me to! I'll send this on rapidly and then plan how to release my own copy (or perhaps keep it in my PC) I love Mitch Albom's writings. They go deep!

Journal Entry 19 by seethroughfaith from Turku, Varsinais-Suomi / Egentliga Finland Finland on Tuesday, August 12, 2008
This was a nice little book but IMHO not quite as good at Mitch Bloom's others.

There was much I did like about this book- it's a story of redemption after all. There was a wonderful quote about mums (that I can't now find) - but I also have to say that this picture is romanticised or naive because it fails to take into account that some mums are abusive, not all are kind, good and loving as the mum in this story.

I loved it though that the ghost of the mum was back as a hairdresser! What a thought :)

My favourite quote is from the end of the book:

So this was my mother's story.
And mine.
I would like to make things right again with those I love

I think we all wish that from time to time. And we need to do it. The trouble is that most of us can't go back - to un-do what we should not have done, or to do that which we failed to do - we have to learn to live in the present, to forgive (also forgive ourselves) and move on ...

I read this book in one go last night!Very predictable but enjoyable and couldn't put it down as was so easy to read.
It did make me think of the tv series "Life on Mars" at one point, especially when he answers the phone.
Just realised I am last in line for this book so shall see if airyaa has anymore plans for it.

Thanks for sharing

Am sending this to Cinderess as a swap for "Digging to America".

Journal Entry 24 by Cinderess on Monday, April 20, 2009
Thanks very much for agreeing to a book swap with me. This looks intriguing. I've got The Five People you Meet in Heaven and have read Tuesdays with Morrie but this was a new one for me. I didn't know anything about it; a complete shot in the dark based on liking the others.

It's such a well travelled little book! I shall make sure I keep it travelling.

Journal Entry 25 by Cinderess on Monday, May 25, 2009
I was doubtful after reading the blurb again that I'd actually enjoy this. It seemed like it was going to be a very sickly sweet read but it wasn't really. It does make you feel incredibly guilty though! Who hasn't been 'too busy' or made excuses not to see family?
