A very special and intriguing collection of short stories! Different, sometimes even strange ones. I liked most of them.

Thanks so much for this RABCK, book-man-8!
I also enjoyed most of them, because I love Tim Winton's sharp writing. He saved the best one in my view, Scission, til last.
Thanks book-man-8, I'll be releasing this book soon.

Tim Winton's writting sure is a pleasure to read, even though I like it more in his novels than in his short stories.
These stories were enjoyable, the style, the sparing of the words, the image they carry... all contributed for my enjoyement of this book.
Even though I was mesmerized by only three of the stories A blow, a kiss, Getting ahead and My father's axe I felt they all convey some strong feelings with a powerful language.
Now I'll pass the book along to conto who also likes Winton's books.

One more Winton to read. Weeee!
Thanks K!

Well, maybe it's just me, but I didn't like this Winton's short stories half as much as his novels (the ones I've read at least).
They are extraordinarily well written, that's for sure, but... it gives me the idea there's always something missing. It seems he doesn't want to say it all, or just wants not to forget the idea and puts it on paper so that he can get back to it later on.
Anyway, I would be willing to read everything the man wrote, therefore: thanks a lot for it, K!
(it'll go back to you asap)

I've received it a while back and it's here now.
Winton's novels work better for me but his short stories are interesting too.
