The Dim Sum of All Things

from amazon.com:
After a lifetime of eating Spaghetti-Os, watching The Brady Bunch, & listening to cheezy '80s music, 25-year-old Lindsey Owyang is a thoroughly modern 3rd generation ABC (American-born Chinese). In an effort to save money & placate her family, Lindsey lives with her tiny, mah-jongg-gambling grandmother, Pau Pau, who dispenses fashion advice, blind dates, & "stinky tiger balm." Like most young urban professional women, Lindsey agonizes over her body (she has one malformed toe, preventing her from wearing sandals), men (she avoids guys with "Asian girl fetishes"), & work (she's one of the secret meat-eaters at Vegan Warrior magazine). When her family insists Lindsey accompany Pau Pau on a nostalgic trip to China, she develops an appreciation for her roots and discovers a family secret.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A fun departure - kind of an Asian Bridget Jones chick-lit romp. The main character, Lindsey, has a lot of insecurities, makes some bad decisions and is at times not too open-minded but manages to improve on these faults as time goes on.
Reserved for Chap 10 of the Chap 12 exchange

I received this as part of The Chapters monthly exchange on bookobsessed. Thanks so much for a wishlist book!
I finished this book last night. It was a cute book into the life of an American-born Chinese girl.
This book is on mellonhead's wishlist so I'm putting it in the mail to her today as a slightly belated birthday present! I hope you enjoy it!
