Taken from the back cover:
"Not all Spaniards are Goat Tossers, not all Portuguese are Penis Cake Eaters and not all Frenchmen are Arse Blowers. But J.R. Daeschner knows quite a few who are.

In Eurotripping, the American writer picks up where he left off with True Brits and crosses the Channel in search of Europe's most surreal traditions. From the far west of Ireland to the continental divide in Istanbul, he ventures where few foreigners have gone before, witnessing events such as the Rigor Mortis Procession in Galicia, Firedancing Festivals in Greek Macedonia and celebrations in honour of England's patron saint in the heart of the EU. Along the way, he's inducted into the Order of the Priceless Sardine in the Dordogne and meets countless characters, including a German detective turned 'love spy', the last of the Irish matchmakers, a Sicilian coprophile and a gay Turkish 'Bear'.

Whether it's the furore over the camp following for Oil Wrestling in Turkey or the controversy surrounding the Dutch 'Santa' and his black sidekick, J.R. Daeschner finds that many of these centuries-old events reveal surprising insights into the issues facing Europe today.

Eurotripping: if you think you know Europe, think again."

Journal Entry 2 by pepita-di-Corfu from Thessaloniki - Θεσσαλονίκη, Thessaloniki Greece on Friday, September 28, 2007
this is a replacement copy that i bought today, since my very first attempt to start a bookring with it was unsuccessful.. the book got lost before even reaching it's first reader :( I hope this time will be better than the previous one.
Usual rules apply to this bookring too. This is journal the book once you receive it so that we'll know that it has traveled safely, then make a new journal entry letting us all know what you thought of it and finally make release notes when letting it on it's way to the next reader. Try to stick with the book for let's say a month maximum, and in case you'll need more time with it, PM me and let me know about it so that i won't consider the book stalled.
So, starting all over again, the list of participants is as follows:

1. sofiathereader, Athens (Greece)
2. ZlatkoGR, Thessaloniki (Greece)
3. Silver-Greece, Thessaloniki (Greece)
4. quino-salonika, Thessaloniki (Greece)
5. elpis, Larisa (Greece)
6. sismografos, Athens (Greece)
7. vainilla79, Madrid (Spain)
8. Stoxasths, Larisa (Greece) <---the book is here!
9. back to me

Released 16 yrs ago (10/9/2007 UTC) at To the first on the list in By mail, A Bookring -- Controlled Releases

Journal Entry 6 by ZlatkoGR from Poligiros - Πολύγυρος, Chalkidiki Greece on Tuesday, November 27, 2007
I forgot to journal it! With the Film Festival and all, my mind is not very focused!

I didn't started it yet and I think I don't have the time or the mental stability to read it (or any book for that matter) but I will keep it for another week or so. Maybe I'm better until then.

If not, I will give it to quino-salonika or Silver-Greece, here in Thessaloniki...

Journal Entry 7 by ZlatkoGR from Poligiros - Πολύγυρος, Chalkidiki Greece on Monday, December 10, 2007

Journal Entry 13 by elpis from Thessaloniki - Θεσσαλονίκη, Thessaloniki Greece on Thursday, August 21, 2008
a book completely different from what i have read so far, interesting. and i was surprised by the fact that phallus fests are held and in other places in Europe, Portugal for example. I thought that the fallus fest in a town near my home city (the Bourani fest at Tyrnavos) is a unique phenomenon!
thanks pepita-di-corfu

Journal Entry 16 by sismografos from Kallithea - Καλλιθέα, Attica Greece on Monday, October 26, 2009

Journal Entry 17 by Stoxasths on Saturday, December 19, 2009
Το βιβλίο ήρθε πριν λίγες μέρες με πολλά καλούδια παρέα. Σύντομα θα το ξεκινήσω. Ευχαριστώωωωω!!!
