I am a latecomer to Waugh, but am enjoying catching up.
Set in a fictional African kingdom, the book lampoons not only its regent and his anglophile attempts of modernisation, but also the diplomatic observers and hangers-on. Very funny!
I am going to leave this in my rucksack and find a place to drop it off in down town Prague.
