Dishing Hollywood: The Real Scoop on Tinseltown's Most Notorious Scandals
4 journalers for this copy...
On the back cover:
"Dishing Hollywood is a delightful and naughty romp through some of the biggest scandals that have rocked Hollywood--from the early part of the 20th century up to the present. Some of the stories appear here for the first time. Some you might think you've heard, but you haven't heard it all! To add a little spice to the story, the author includes a recipe with each "scoop" - favorite dishes, cocktails of choice, even some last meals. Including....
*Inger Stevens - C'mon who kills herself in the middle of making her favorite sandwich. A BLT with avocado?
*Mama Cass - That ham sandwich? Baloney!
*Robert Blake - His favorite restaurant named a dish after him to capitalize on his troubles.
*Debbie Reynolds - What did she fix her kids for dinner (on a budget) after that rat fink Eddie Fisher threw her over for Liz Taylor?
*Bobby Darin - He learned how to make his "Special Spinach" from his mother, or was it his grandmother?
Many more stories are inside, each more scandalous and shocking than the next. So quit stallin'- pull up a chair and check out the menu. And don't forget to tip the waitress."

Happy Travels Little Book!
Just got this one today! Will get it read asap!
Will write my thoughts when I have more time.. Sent this morning (7 Nov)
Arrived here today! Thanks for sharing!
Cute book, but really qucik read. Jacobson writes in a gossip-y, cheky way which is fun to read when you know the story, but majorly lacks in details if you don't already know. I ended up skipping over the stories about celebrities I haven't heard of so I got through it in one night.
Waiting for BA's address....

The book is here!! I can't wait to start it! Thanks, JennyC, for starting this cool book spiral and thanks for shipping it to me, Breeze.
I loved this book! There was a great many Hollywood personalities whom I had heard of, like Mama Cass, River Phoenix, Liberace, etc. but a great many of whom I had not, such as Clara Blandick, Cheiro and Jean Seberg, to name a few. Some of the details of their deaths was shocking - I wonder how much of the book is fact and how much is fictional to sensationalize it and sell more copies? Hmmmmm.....
The recipes were kind of a goofy touch - you could tell some of them were a stretch, like Rudolph Valentino's spaghetti with mussels. Who could say for sure what ol' Rudy was cooking up in his kitchen back in the 1920s? He wasn't known for his cuisine, that's for sure!
[With JennyC's approval for having hoarded this book for SO long, it will be mailed back to her tomorrow, 3-18-08. Thanks for your patience with me!)
