When Ginny Holland's daughter Jem heads off to university, Ginny can't believe how much she misses her. Ginny knows it's the perfect time to kick-start a whole new life. But fresh beginnings can be tricky, especially when the first gorgeous man you've clapped eyes on in years accuses you of shoplifting. For heaven's sake, it's not as if she meant to steal the peacock...

Meanwhile, is Jem missing her mother? Not a chance! Being away from home is a huge adventure and Jem's making the most of her newfound freesom. Thank goodness her mother isn't the clingy, protective type. Anyway, Ginny's busy enough right now with a new job and a fledgling relationship with the charismatic Perry Kennedy.

But is Ginny as in control of the situation as Jem thinks? Is it too late for her to set right the first impression she made on Finn Penhaligon, her sexy but scary boss? And is either Finn or Perry quite what he seems?

Stayed up very late on Sat night to finish this as there was no way I was going to put it down!!! Really enjoy this book as I do all Jill Mansell books. Loved the development of the charactors and their relationships with each other. Won't give anymore away!!

Another pleasant romp from Jill Mansell, who I think is one of the original and better modern day writers of ‘chick- lit’. I have been reading her novels since 1998 and she always writes in an amusing and up to date way. Hardly ‘brain fodder’ but nonetheless a good choice for those times when you feel like reading something light and frothy.
The main character in this one is ‘empty nester’ Ginny Holland trying to build a new life for herself now daughter Jem has gone off to university.
As always in her books there is a good mix of characters whose personalities emerge throughout the story with good development of the characters and their interesting relationships!

Will now be on its way home to rosiewhippet.
