Irina is in a relationship with Lawrence. He is dependable and supportive, however she is tempted to kiss Ramsey, ex-husband of a former work acquaintance. Ramsey is a professional snooker player and he is quite the opposite being passionate and impulsive. Each chapter of this novel alternates through parallel universes- will it be Ramsey or stay with Lawrence. Each of these choices has consequences that will affect all aspects of Irina's life. I really enjoyed this and is an excellent discussion book raising lots of questions about life choices and relationships. The author has an astute perceptive eye and writes with a good dash of humour with some laugh out loud moments. Highly recommended.

I am planning to post his early next week in controlled release via Australia Post all the way to the Northern Territory to a fellow bookmoocher who I hope is going to enjoy this one as much as I did. Really pleased to release this one to the wider community as great books should be shared and read by many. Next stop is *nikkilovesbooks* =)

Thanks Jenny, the book arrived yesterday. It looks very inviting. I have a few must reads at the moment - books marked to go out to friends, but I think I will shiffle this one up the list and read it after that (especially since it is a 10 star book!!). I'll pass it on once I have read it, to keep the book moving.

I finish reading this book while holidaying at Cairns a few months ago. It was a very good read. I liked the alternate chapters dealing with what would or would not happen depending upon a decision that changes our whole life. I liked how Shriver explored the idea that it not only changed our life, but so many of our relationships with others as well eg the relationship between Irina and her mother as seen from both 'lives'. As it was such an interesting read, I decided to offer it as a RABCK on the book wishlist. It was won by Bella Mack in Tassie, and I am posting it off to her in a few days, along with some chosen Nora Roberts books - great holiday reading. Congrats Bella Mack. I hope you like the book as much as Jeniwren & I.

Received before Christmas and sadly overlooked journalling it then. My apologies.
