Absolutely wonderful, wonderful story, about a truly fabulous dog. So well written you would cry with laughter. No Marlay isn't well trained, he is destructive, disobedient and truly the most lovable dog in the world. I would love all my friends who have owned an uncontrollable but adorable dog to read this book

I found this book really good when it was just man and dog. The slow realisation that their dog was "unique"...the journey of deciding Marley was acting as he was because it was a puppy, and then just a bit young for dog obedience training, and then just really full of nervous energy, and then the realisation that Marley was barking mad!!!

My favourite bits - getting Marley neutered, and Marley the movie star!!!

The first half of the last chapter was oversentimental and really disappointing - where other people's dog stories were quoted.

A lovely book to read.

Sorry I've held onto this book for ages but it's being doing the rounds in my family! It's only recently come back into my possession.

Both my parents absolutely loved this book, but especially my Dad who thinks it's the best book ever! We always had boxer dogs at home and as our two were always badly behaved (though not as bad as Marley)I think that the book brought back great memories for my Dad.

I recently finished it and I loved it too. I didn't really believe Gizmo when she told me it would make me laugh and cry but it did....much to the amusement of fellow dart (train) passengers!

Mr Roxy is now reading it and I'll pass it back when he's finished.

A "must-read" for all dog lovers!
