This is a memoir, a travel book, a wise and spiritual guide, and a lightly funny story.

Following a divorce and crushing depression, the author left behind her former life to examine 3 aspects of her nature in three very different places and cultures: pleasure in Italy, spiritual devotion in India, and balance in Bali.

This book was a birthday gift from my friend Cathy. I'm just part of the way through it, and am enjoying it immensely. When I'm done, I expect to keep it on my shelf to re-read again, as I think it's the kind of book that could yield new insights with re-reading.

A favorite passage, so far:
"Not necessary," he said. "I have good idea, for if you meet some person from different religion and he want to make argument about God. Never argue about God with him. Best thing to say is, 'I agree with you.' Then you go home, pray what you want. This is my idea for people to have peace about religion."
