Got this one out of a freebie box at a church yard sale.

I read this on my commutes to and from work, and really got into it more than I expected to. The language and message were both really intreiguing, and I think I would like to read more of this series - just not right away.

Mailed this off today as part of a trade - I hope your son enjoys it!

Arrived in today's mail. I think I'll read this one myself before my son's class starts reading it. Thanks again for the trade. (I'm just finishing up the Provoost book and will pop it into the mail tomorrow.)
-----------

Update: This seems to be one of those books that you have to be in the mood for - if you are in a spiritual or reflective mood, you may find it lovely or uplifting. If you are in cynical mood, you may feel like rolling your eyes as you read it. It is a very quick read, and, luckily, I was in a rather reflective mood when I read it. It is a tale that has a familiar ring to it, one that has been told in different ways by different authors, perhaps.

A couple passages that I liked:

"The boy was beginning to understand that intuition is really a sudden immersion of the soul into the universal current of life, where the histories of all people are connected, and we are able to know everything, because it's all written there." (p. 74)

"It is we who nourish the Soul of the World, and the world we live in will be either better or worse, depending on whether we become better or worse. And that's where the power of love comes in. Because when we love, we always strive to become better than we are." (p. 151)

*Just realized I hadn't updated after reading this- whoops! Well, I picked this book up from the flower shop in Florida where I used to live, years ago! It came along with me during the move to Colorado, and at some point I did read it. I remember enjoying it very much. I'm glad to finally now be sending it off on its journey to the next reader... :)

I love this book. I found it at The Mercury Cafe my favorite place in Denver on día de San Valentín. I opened this book to page 122 and read
" So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find
you. " Today I will remember these words and the beautiful poem by Rumi...

“If you find me not within you, you will never find me. For I have been with you, from the beginning of me. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”

My belief is this is how the entire universe conspired to help people find their love.

Thank you for reminding me of this today.

love,
Alicia
