A dark, mystery-laden fantasy. I found myself wrapped up in the story, although at times I was able to predict what was going to happen next.

Sending to Lemonitsa for the bookobsessed February SFF Swap. Enjoy!

Description:

Christine Starlight lives with her lover, Jude, in a hip artists' colony in modern-day Berlin. Haunted by a troubled past, she is shocked when her missing childhood friend, May, suddenly reappears. Abducted as a young girl, May now presides over a magical, mythical kingdom where a witch lives in a well, a shape-shifting wolf is her trusted counselor, and fate hangs on the fall of an autumn leaf. But as Christine becomes enamored of this beautiful undying land, May falls dangerously in love with Jude. And as their mortal and immortal worlds collide, the women attract a danger born of both realms -- a ruthless killer who knows that Christine can enter another dimension, a place where innocents are ripe for the taking…

Using this lovely book as my Halloween/Fall Reveal @ BookObsessed.

I'm reading it right now :)

Oct. 21/09 - I enjoyed this story very much. Definitely dark, full of little details and well written. I, too, could predict some of the turns but I didn't want to put the book down. I was rooting for Christine the whole time :D

LoriPed won this in the BookObsessed swap and I'll be sending it out soon. I have 3 other books going her way (of which I still need to read 2)

I really enjoyed this story and the blending of old and contemporary. Sorry about taking so long to read it, but it got buried deep in the stacks on my bookshelf. Sending out to Nim for the August Sweepstakes.

This is probably one of the best urban fantasy books that is not written by Charles DeLint that I have read in a very very long time. I absolutely loved the blending of contemporary and fairy world. Plus the ending was perfectly written.Thank you so much for sharing this LoriPed. I will definitely keep this author's name in mind, for future reading.
