Ruth Rendell, how wonderful! I've read (and enjoyed) the print version already, and it's always fun to compare the printed vs. performed versions.
Excellent and elegant work, as always. My favorite story was "Mother's Help," but they were all little gems. I still don't get the point about "Paperwork," what the big secret was; if other readers can help make it clear, I'll be grateful.
As good as these are, I still prefer Rendell's full-length work. Also, I was a bit disappointed by the reading by James Fox. It was certainly a flawless job of reading, but that's all it was. Usually I find an audiobook performance richer than the print version, but in this case, Fox did not add anything to the text. This book is on two cassettes, and I believe it is unabridged.
But that's just one person's opinion. Future readers, what do YOU think of this?

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Mailed to Moody-Blue for iwillrejoice's Audiobook VBB
Thank you!
The audiobook format failed me on this one. The big twist at the end of each story must have been a little reference back to some detail I missed while I was paying more attention to traffic than the narrator.
Offered up and claimed during iwillrejoice's Audio VBB. Enjoy!
Picked this off the list of iwillrejoice's Audio VBB. Thanks so much for sharing and sending this to me, Moody-Blue. :-)
