The Judas Strain (int'l BOOKRAY)
9 journalers for this copy...
"From the depth of the Indian Ocean..." The incredible James Rollins does it again! So many ideas so well put together and written in a way you cannot stop reading. Of course it's again based on real scientific facts - and a few others. But I won't tell more... Only this: the mysterious and beautiful Seichan plays a major role in this story and - ??? - in the life of Gray Pierce? If you're already hooked to Rollins' adventure-thrillers, this one is A MUST!
I first have to read it, but then...
Edit August 30: I just finished it! Again: incridible, unbelievable and fascination from the first to the last page!
I'll make a bookray out of it (it's just out of press - hardcover)!
The following bookcrossers read along:
"iliotropio" from Brussels, Bruxelles / Brussel, Belgium (int'l)

I was less interested in this book than in Amazonia by the same writer. But I must say that I like the way in which Rollins writes. He's really a great story-teller !
The book's on its way to foxbooks now.
Thanks again book-man-8 !

Got the book yesterday, March 1, here in Amherst, Massachusetts. It's the 2nd on my TBR list (after another ring I just got yesterday as well) but I can't wait to read it. Thanks again!
Another pretty kick-ass book from James Rollins which I finished today while waiting to lead a Boy Scout seminar on campus. Some of the ladies seemed to be really downplayed in this one - specifically Kat and Rachel - and I kind of thought that Lisa and Susan were boneheaded replacements. The villains actually sometimes interested me more than the heroes - I was almost rooting for them, what with all the stupid people being of "help" to Sigma (Kowalski, Jessie, Gray's parents). But that's what a good author can do - make you see from all sides. Regardless of the stuff I didn't like, it was a winner and I loved every thrilling minute of it. The ending was completely awesome though. More more more!
Off to ealasaidmae within the week.

Sent yesterday from Amherst, MA to St. Albans, WV. Go book go!
It's here! I have a deluge of rings right now but I promise I'll get it moving again ASAP! Thanks!
I don't think this is my favorite Rollins book but it's still pretty good. I always learn things when I read him. Like now - I'm going to have to spend some time on the Internet, looking up his science. Especially since real bioterrorism is very much a part of our world, a burgeoning field not just for terrorists but also for many of our governments. Now he has me wondering what's really out there.
SPOILER ALERT! Highlight if you want to read this part: I'm also very upset that he killed off Monk. I *like* Monk. Or is he dead? That cryptic little bit at the end with the hand tapping out SOS...The next book had better come out soon and give me some answers. Otherwise I may have to go visit Mr. Rollins with some squid in tow.

This was waiting for me when I returned from a family trip to Utah along with another bookray from book-man-8. Hope to get to these soon but I have a few in front of them. Thanks for including me.
Stayed up late last night and finished this. Another super Rollins Sigma Force novel! This is only the second Sigma novel I've read (after Black Order) - I really need to take time to read the first two but that TBR stack doesn't seem to get any shorter. Anyway, this was another fast-paced action novel from Rollins. As usual, he threw in a lot of interesting premises including the Judas Strain itself and bioterrorism, the use of the "angelic script", and the historical mystery of Marco Polo and what happened to his fleet on his return trip to Venice. The novel also takes the reader to several interesting locations including Angkor in Cambodia, Christmas Island, and the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (I was unaware of the details about this massive structure). Along the way he also throws in cannibals and pirates, eletrified killer squids, and nasty land crabs -- what more could you ask for in an action novel!
Thanks book-man-8 for another good one. Since I am last on the list for this bookray, I will be sending it on as a RABCK.

The book was waiting for me when I picked up my mail today. I'm headed camping tomorrow for a long weekend and can't wait to catch some rays and read. Thanks Perryfan for checking my wishlist and passing it on to me. I'll let you know when I finish reading and pass it on to someone else. I may just have to check out bookrays.
