10 out of 10

I seem to be reading some very good books recently and this is one of them. Once I'd picked it up I couldn't put it down and read it in one day. Roald Dahl's style of writing is in such an easy to read format and yet the content is absolutely fascinating. It was a big eye opener into the way of life for public school boys in the 1930s and quite shocking to read a first hand account. Also shocking was his description of various medical procedures carried out on himself and others. Nevertheless RD made it all sound comical too. I also enjoyed reading about his childhood before going away to school and the stories of his holidays in Norway with his family. His mother must have been an incredible lady.

I've put it in a RABCK draw and the winnder is linafeo in the Philippines - it will be on its way as soon as I have her address.
