Correct book but a different cover.

Every few decades a book is published that changes the lives of its readers forever. This is such a book - a magical fable about learning to listen to your heart, read the omens strewn along life's path and, above, all follow your dreams. This is the magical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who dreams of travelling the world in search of a worldly treasure as fabulous as any ever found. From his home in Spain, he journeys to the markets of Tangiers, and from there into the Egyptian desert, where a fateful encounter with the alchemist awaits him. With Paulo Coelho's visionary blend of spirituality, magical realism and folklore, "The Alchemist" is a story with the power to inspire nations and change people's lives.

A quick easy read with an underlying message about following your heart to find your destiny. Not the most exciting book I've ever read but certainly one that made me think about the omens we come across in life and following our dreams. What is our destiny and could we change it by following a different path? I've always believed that some things are done for a reason and sometimes that reason becomes clear. Never quite on the scale of the things in this book and as yet I've never found treasure. But then again maybe I have.

This is the second time I've read this little book! The first time it helped me find my soulmate even though the journey spanned thousands of miles and many years. This time it has helped me to find a new career path which I'm sure will be excellent! Reading and personal belief is powerful. I hope this book can inspire future generations as it had me. I am passing it on to a young man who has a good soul and can use some guidance. Thank you for our time spent together,

Joshua Raven
