My impression of the book:
I liked the book a lot. It was very funny and suspensefull.
Captain Holly Short is the first female officer in the fairy police. They have a lot to do to keep humans from noticing those fairies who go topside. Most stay in their cities underground....

Ich hatte das Buch schon vor Weihnachten ausgelesen, aber wegen des Feiertagsrummels und jetzt grade ausgestandenener familienweiter Grippe reist das Buch erst morgen weiter zu Bibo.

Ein kurzweiliges Buch, das vom Stil her ganz leicht an Pratchett erinnert (vielleicht weil auch bei ihm die Fabelwesen immer menschlicher sind als reale Menschen). Das ist auch so ein bisschen mein Kritikpunkt: Ich mag lieber geheimnisvolle Elfen und nicht "Menschen", die zusätzlich noch ein bisschen Magie haben. Ansonsten aber ganz amüsant.

Seit gestern auf dem Weg zu Bibo59.

und ist gut angekommen.
Muss ein kleines bisschen warten, weil ich mit einem anderen Buch auf der Hälfte hänge.

No this doesn't remind me on Terry Pratchett at all. It is lacking his special kind of humor.
In fact it reminds me on Harry Potter even in words or descriptions.

The description of the quality of wings is similar to the quality of brooms in Harry Potter. And also a troll appears.
The Elves with their helmets and weapons seem very futuristic to me.

Wrong book, wrong time, wrong place?
Sorry, but I couldn't get friend with the technically overequipped elves and the criminal child.

Arrived today. I'm looking forward to reading the book but it will have to wait for a little time because of 2 other rings waiting here.

Has been read by my boyfriend and he liked it very much. I'm going to read it next.

A nice and fast read. I liked the story and the ideas about the fairys&co. It is quite suspenseful. I'm actually not so sure if I really like Artemis, but the following volumes will show that.
