Rural America finally has a vampire story to call it''s own. Sookie Stackhouse is a waitress in a small town in Louisiana. She''s quite, keeps to herself, and doesn''t get out much. She''s smart, she''s pretty and has a disability - she can read minds and that doesn''t make her to dateable. The along comes Bill. He''s tall, dark and handsome and Sookie can''t read his mind.
First in the Sookie Sackhouse vampire series although I read book 2 first and didn''t get confused. Campy, light read. Nothing dark or scary - or for that matter believable but a fun little book to tuck in your purse and read when you have a few minutes.

What you have in your hands is an honest-to-goodness gift, no strings attached. You may keep it forever and ever, pass it on to a friend, or release it in the wild like I did. I know it may seem a little odd to find this lying around--it's my way of touching the lives of others in a positive way, with the hope that it made your day.
If you are new to BookCrossing and find this book and this site, welcome! Enjoy the site, the book and hopefully the BookCrossing community.
If you are an old hand at BookCrossing, thanks for picking up the book! Either way, I hope you'll journal so all the previous and future readers can track this book's journey. Thanks, and happy BookCrossing!

Thanks again, LGinder. I have liked the 'True Blood' series and was so excited that there were books about Sookie and Bill as well.
Truly enjoyable and I was surprised at how much True Blood followed the book. So many times I'm disappointed by adaptations, but True Blood, although more violent, did seem to capture the essence of the novel. I will be looking for the rest of the books in this series.
I have several folks at work that want to read this and my daughter, after they're finished I'll be ready to release.
