Oops -- thought I''d registered this one already! This is a pretty simplistic discussion of emotional overeating, although sometimes short and sweet can be the way to go.

Book description:

Are you a habitual overeater? When you feel a twinge of emotion, is your first impulse to put something in your mouth? What needs are being covered up by your desire to eat more? What is your hunger all about?

Overeaters need to pay attention to what is behind the craving for excess food, says the author of the daily meditation book Food for Thought, in her latest book. Hunger can reflect and express a number of unsatisfied needs: for intimacy, safety, peace, and emotional and spiritual expression. Hunger can mask feelings of anger, fear, loneliness, fatigue, and boredom. Hunger can be a signal of aborted desire, unmet expectations or dependency issues.

One of the greatest resources you possess is the inner voice that tells you who you are, what you feel, and what you need. Listen to the Hunger will teach you how to listen to the wisdom of that inner voice. You will learn from your hunger and discover what your hunger is all about. Once you begin listening, you will be lead to an ever greater knowledge of yourself and of life. You will not cease to be hungry, but you will learn what satsifies.
