The film, 'A Cock & Bull Story' is loosely based on this. Having seen said film, and enjoyed it's quirkiness, I decided I ought to read the source material.

This was hard work and sadly, not really worth the effort. Although there are some real gems in there, you have to wade through way too much in order to get to them. It ought to have been right up my street, but I found reading it more of a chore than a pleasure. Still, it's another one off the list I suppose.

28 Dec 11 - I'm giving up, I've got about 3/4 of the way through and have no idea what is going on and seem to be just reading random words. A lot of people seem to love this book, but it just doesn't work for me, the punctuation is not easy to follow and there are a lot of of distractions away from the main story that make it very hard to follow. I have read a review that said they hated it the first time and loved it the second but I have too many books to read to think that I amy give this another go, saying that stranger things have happened so never say never.
