Undead and Unwed (Queen Betsy, Book 1)
7 journalers for this copy...
It's been a helluva week for Betsy Taylor. First, she loses her job. Then, to top things off, she's killed in a car accident, but what really bites (besides waking up in the morgue dressed in a pink suit and cheap shoes courtesy of her stepmother) is that she can't seem to stay dead. Every night she rises, with a horrible craving for blood. She's not taking too well to a liquid diet.
Worst of all, her new friends have the ridiculous idea that Betsy is the prophesied vampire queen, and they want her help in overthrowing the most obnoxious, power-hungry vampire in five centuries - a badly dressed Bela Lugosi wannabe, natch. Frankly, Betsy couldn't care less about vamp politics, but they have a powerful weapon of persuasion: designer shoes. How can any self-respecting girl say no?

Talk about your drama queen. This is a fast & fun read.

Betsy & pals are on their way to visit BethanieKay in Texas. Have fun!
Received in the mail today ... looks like a great story to read just before Halloween! Will start reading soon!
I loved this book! It was a quick, fun and entertaining read. This was a perfect pre-Halloween story! I especially loved the author's writing style, or rather, Betsy's figures of speech and adjectives. A couple of my faves:
"Whoa! Ixnay on the issing-kay ... we hardly know each other. Also, I'm so straight I could be a ruler. Leggo now, there's a nice hysteric."
"I was a mystery wrapped in an enigma and drenched in Big Mac secret sauce."
Overall, an adorable book. A google search on the internet shows that this is actually the first in a series of six "Undead and Un..." books. I'm definitely going to have to hunt the other ones down! (no pun intented ;)
Thanks for sharing, RCLoriH! I have the addy for the next in line, so will be sending it soon.

I really enjoyed this book. It's now on its way to arugh48187.
Thanks!
Thanks!
This one dropped into my mailbox to stay for a bit. I have a few bookrings in front of it, but I am a fast reader, so it shouldn't tarry long. You can track its progress via my bookshelf.
Just an okay book. I found it a bit trite, and the puns were a bit lame. But I guess it was good for a bit of fluff after some of the tomes I've been reading. I will probably not look for more in this series, but I did notice they are available for download at netlibrary, so if I run out of material there I'll look these up again.
Thanks for sharing. I have the address of the next reader, and it will go out in the mail tomorrow.

I got this one on Saturday and finished reading it on Sunday! It's really good. I have been looking forward to reading this. I enjoy Queen Betsy, even though she is a bit vain and shoe-obsessed. She is funny, loyal and pretty.
If you enjoy this book, you also might like: Dead End Dating by Kimberly Raye - Lil Marchette vampire series, or Real Vampires Have Curves by: Gerry Bartlett - the Glory St. Claire series.
RCLori - please send me your address and I will mail this back to you! :-)
