Another great installment about the people of Harmony. It was good to read about how they settled on earth.

I read the book already and it was a fascinating one. Although a bit weirder than the previous ones. The different intelligent species seemed farfetched, but then again, why not.. How should I know.

Journal Entry 9 by MeiMeiK from Turku, Varsinais-Suomi Finland on Tuesday, May 18, 2010
I finished reading this book a week ago but I haven't had a proper time to journal about the reading experience and the book. Somehow I really liked this volume, reading this one went very fluently when I started to read. The plot was very "long", the people left the Harmony, were on the ship and started colonicing the Earth. Add to that some scheming, etchical questions, human relationship, dreams, religions ... phew, what a story! But again Card succeeds with them all. In the last quarter of the book there was one drastic (and violent) twist in the story that I didn't like, but I guess it had to happen that the story would go on and evolve. Thanks for organizing the bookring MiuM! I've started to read the last volume and it seems to be a bit different. This one goes next to Hippolein!

Managed to read the book in between the books for my studies. Have to tell the story continues nicely, although the arrival on earth seem to be a bit sudden. The way the things go on earth are very interesting, but I have to confess I didn't like the solution in the last chapter. Hoping the reason for that will be clear in the last book, that I hope the read in the near future. Now off to check who needs to get it next...

Journal Entry 14 by Nauris at Helsinki, Uusimaa Finland on Saturday, June 12, 2010
This book surprised me. I was pretty fed up with the characters in this saga but still wanted to find out what happens next, how this story ends. This book was more interesting to read because there were so many "new" characters. Some of the children grew up and became more active characters in the story. Of course there were new things and beings on earth. The weird things about the beings were first implausible, later on things got an eplanation but it felt like it came a bit too late, I already had started to think that the things told about these beings were too unbelievable. I'm interested in what the last part of the saga contains. How does the human civilization evolve on earth, why were they brought there? Are we going to read a great ending to this saga where mind-blowing things are introduced to us or is it the same thing all over again how people keep having power struggles and hatred, and nothing changes within the human kind. Thanks for organizing this bookring MiuM. (I've contacted the next person in the ring and will send the book forward as soon as I get the address)

I enjoyed the book, despite the 'sameness' of all the previous books. Elemak tries to seize power and kill Nafai, he fails. This has happened in every book so far, and I for one am getting tired of it. But the rest of the book was interesting, the kids growing up and relationship between angels and diggers. The way humans started meddling with the 'natives' as soon as they arrived is sad and true. They never even seemed to consider the option of leaving them alone. Tiny complaint: 40 million years, and the angels never tought of planting crops themselves? Not very beleivable, they were quite intellegent species after all. Looking forward to reading the last part now, hope it won't be as predictable.
