The story of how Chicago overcame many obstacles to pull of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition is interwoven with the story of a serial killer who used the activites around the fair the the growth of the city to acquire many of his victims.
The author uses historical fact mixed with a little literary license to keep both stories going. Not the fastest read but still interesting in its way.
