I couldn't resist taking this book with me from Italy, because it sounds so hilarious :)
From the back cover:
"All women want to kill their husbands some of the time "Where there's a will, I intend to be in it," wives half-joke to each other. Marriage, it would appear, is a fun-packed frivolous hobby, only occasionally resulting in death. But when Jazz Jardine is arrested for her husband's murder, the joke falls flat. Life should begin at 40 - not with life imprisonment for killing your spouse. Jazz, stay-at-home mum and domestic goddess Hannah, childless career woman and Cassie, demented working mother of two are three ordinary women. Their record collections are classical, not criminal. Cassie and Hannah set out immediately to prove their best friend's innocence, uncovering betrayal, adultery, plot twists, thinner thighs and toy boys aplenty en route but will their friendship survive these ever darker revelations? Sexy, funny and wise, Kathy Lette's irresistible new novel is about women not Having It All But Doing It All. It's about how today's mother is often a married lone parent. It's about the fact that no woman has ever shot her husband while he was vacuuming. on what goes on in the bedrooms and kitchens of ordinary married couples. A novel which will strike a cord with married women everywhere and ensure that, from now on, they all read the small print on their marriage licenses."

Thank you, lukutuoli. This really was a surprise! I didn't expect I would have even a chance to read this book for a while, but... Here it is! I can't wait to read this!
My soon-to-be-a-husband didn't look happy when he saw this book in my hands.. He thinks I'm planning something! ;)

This book was a big letdown. I don't know what I expected from it, but sure didn't wait it to be a cheesy chick-lit. I should have known better.
Like to lukutuoli, this book sounded hilarious to me too, and it had all the chances to be funny, but it wasn't. It was very sad. It was well written and some sentences were pretty clever, but the story was so bad it didn't help.
Three middle-aged women with three awful husband who cheat and treat those poor women like trash. They know they should divorce, but do they really want to? They don't know. Maybe it's better to have some toyboys, therapy (with a crazy therapist), and in the end a murder. This book advices that when you have a bad husband, everything else too is bad in your life. Your work, your children, your sexlife, everything. Except your girlfriends. They're always wonderful and smart and know always what to say.
In the middle of the book I was going to stop reading, but I didn't for some reason. It got better in the end, but that didn't save anything. Never again.
Anyways, I still want to thank you, lukutuoli, for this book. Now I know better what I shouldn't wish. :)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Released at the extra meetup. Hope you enjoy the book!
I picked up this book at a meetup in Tampere. Read it soon after but forgot to journal it before now, I'm sorry ... ! It was an OK read to pass the time, but not very convincing ... the characters were rather one-dimensional. Kind of fun though. :-) I will bring the book with me to meetup here in Oslo this afternoon and will leave it in the zone if no one takes it with them.
