I have a copy of this in my PC but it is so good that another copy for wild release won't go amiss!!

Synopsis from Amazon:-
'After a mysterious accident during their visit to the caves, Dr Assiz is accused of assaulting Adela Quested, a naive young Englishwoman. As he is brought to trial, the fragile structure of Anglo-Indian relations collapses and the racism inherent in colonialism is exposed in all its ugliness.'

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I really enjoyed Forsters writing style and descriptions of the people and places in India. However at times I found myself quite muddled, my fault or his? I don't quite know! I am glad I have read it, and it was enjoyable at the time but I don't really feel it has left anything with me.

Releasing at the March Leeds Bookcrossers Meetup.

Well...I found this to be a bit of a chore to read, to be honest. Forster's prose is very wordy. I found his tone quite interesting - ie. sarcastic, mostly - but for the most part I think he goes on a bit. And despite his relatively enlightened view of colonialism, it is still a rather dated novel. I can see it has merits for the literary academic, but for the leisure reader (for this one, anyway) it is a paragraph or two too far.

I haven't read any of his other work, and I don't really think I want to now.
